Apple has started marketing the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in the United States and Canada since last September. The second sale of the smartphone series was less encouraging.
Rogers Communications, Canada’s largest mobile carrier, for example, said consumers were less interested in the new smartphone duo of Apple.
“What we’re seeing is a kind of … interest in flagging the iPhone 8,” said Chief Executieve Rogers Communications, Joe Natale, in a quarterly financial report conference this week.
The sluggish sales of the iPhone 8 culminate in Apple’s stock price recorded dropping nearly 3 percent in Thursday’s trading session on the Nasdaq exchange.
Natale suspects, consumers delay purchases because they prefer to wait for the iPhone X, Apple’s new flagship scheduled release in the near future in early November.
Compared to iPhone 8, iPhone X is embedding more updates as well as new features, such as OLED bezel less screen, and Face ID face scanner.
The problem, Apple’s partners are also not sure about the potential sales of the iPhone X because offere more expensive than previous models iPhone.
Not to mention the rumors about production problems that the device will be available in limited quantities because it is more difficult to make.
“The price of the iPhone X is 75 percent higher than the iPhone X, so it is very expensive,” said Natale, as summarized by KompasTekno from CBC, Friday (20/19/2017). ios 6 download free
